Truckloads (TL) are typically priced by the mile because this service usually gives you exclusive use of the flatbed or van. Many times shippers contact truckload carriers even though the shipment in question doesn’t fill up the entire trailer. In these cases, CRD will negotiate a “partial truckload rate”. These “partial” rates are traditionally a good value, priced well below the LTL rate and also significantly below the full truckload rate.
